Here's some interesting information about the Amiga commercials featured in this section:
The A1000 Commercial was aired during the tv-show "Twilight Zone" on US tv-channel CBS back in 1985. Thanks to Dmain for sending it to me!
The 4 MTV commercials were captured by Jim Patterson from an old videotape in his own VHS collection. By capturing the commercials Jim has saved this unique material from getting lost. Thanks Jim!
The one-minute TV commercial for the A500 was submitted by Pete Wason. According to Pete the commercial was captured from the beginning of a video that LIFE magazine put out called "LIFE Looks Back". The tape was a retrospective of the 20th century and the LIFE magazine covers and articles that were part of it. Thanks Pete!
The 4-part A600 / CDTV commercial was featured on The Lawnmower Man video casette. In between the movie trailers, these Amiga commercials were shown. A lot of the graphics in the commercials look like the graphics from the movie itself. I guess the commercial was tailor-made for the movie. Huge thanks must go to Patrick De Zoete for grabbing this for me.
The "Commodore Amiga präsentiert" clip was recorded from German RTL in 1994 when Commodore sponsored the tv-show "Seaquest DSV". Thanks to Alex for responding to my request for new videomaterial!
The Amiga MCC promo-video was produced by Gateway to promote the forthcoming Amiga Multimedia Convergence Computer. The machine never went into production though, and Gateway sold the rights to Bill McEwan who now runs Amiga Inc.
WANTED! WANTED! It has been confirmed that Commodore produced a commercial for the Amiga1200 featuring the song "Sunshine on a rainy day" by Zoe. It showed a teenage boy looking out the window at the rain and then back at Lemmings on his Amiga. And - if my sources are correct - as the song reached the chorus, the weather outside would clear up and he would play through the games.
Other people say they have seen a German version of the CD32 commercial already featured on the site.
Commodore's own marketing material states that in 1993 in Germany, Commodore aired A600 and A1200 ads in German radio on the following channels: 100.6 Berlin, Antenne Bayern, Antenne Brandenburg, FFH, FFN, HR 3, IPA 1, MDR 2, MDR Life, OK-Radio, Radio Hamburg, Radio NRW, RK Ba-Wü, RNS West, RSH, RTL II, SWF 3.
Amiga TV-commercials have also been aired on German TV channels according to Commodore's own material. Probably both A1200 and CD32 commercials have been broadcasted on German RTL-plus, Pro7 and KabelKanal (The channel is named "Kabel1" now).
Does anyone have video / audio recordings of the material mentioned above?
